MagDI™ uses controlled magnetic compression to create a side-to-side connection between the duodenum and ileum. The technique can then be incorporated into different metabolic procedures according to the patient's clinical needs.
Specialized magnets are positioned in selected areas of the duodenum and ileum.
The magnets bring the tissues together and create gradual, controlled compression.
A new side-to-side intestinal connection forms as part of the selected metabolic procedure.

The MagDI™ System received FDA De Novo marketing authorization under DEN240013 for the creation of side-to-side duodeno-ileal anastomoses during minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery.
FDA authorization applies to the MagDI™ System and its stated use in creating the intestinal connection. It does not represent FDA authorization of Sleeve Plus™, Sleeve Rescue Plus, or MagDI™ for Diabetes as treatments for obesity, weight loss, Type 2 diabetes, or metabolic disease.
FDA documentation states that the effects of the MagDI™ System on weight loss were not studied. The FDA device classification is for the creation of gastrointestinal anastomoses and does not include devices intended for weight loss or metabolic-disease treatment.
